The last few weeks I’ve been crazy busy and hardly at home, so I’ve been unable to update.
First I went to Mexico for a class trip. Everyone kept warning me that it was dangerous and my professor was crazy for letting us go, but it turned out to be not only really safe, but so much fun! I want to go back to eat from the fish taco street vendors. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures from the trip because I lost my camera. It was so lame, but that’s what I get for being so drunk and careless. As soon as I was back in the States, I bought a new camera. It’s not the old one that I adored, but I’m growing to love this one, too.
Last week was Spring Break and I went to Paris to visit my old roommate. She graduated in December and is taking some time off to travel and figure out what she wants to do with her life…so jealous. The trip was pretty much filled with new experiences…first trip to Europe, first trip to Paris, first time flying that far east (for me), first time in Philly, and so many more I can’t even think about right now. She’s renting an apartment in the 19e so I had a free place to crash. Even though I was only in Paris for ten days, it felt like so many more because of the fact we’ve lived together before. Ugh I want to go back right now!
I have a few pictures from places we visited and food we bought or prepared.

Food we made/people brought for the flat-warming.

My friend’s parents sent the spices for empanadas (and tequila!) with me to Paris. The recipe involves a 2:1 ratio of onions to beef…we bought and cooked down 2 kilos of onions. We def smelled pretty onion-y for the rest of the night, but the empanadas were worth it!

It’s strawberry season I guess…my first French strawberries in tart form.
I’m usually really scared to try new cuisine, especially if it’s not Asian. My friend convinced me to try Moroccan food and I now I’m in love.
